About Us…

First Start First Aid Training was established in 2021 by Chloe Harvey. Since this time to the current date we have gone from strength to strength, achieving a wonderful collaboration with the NHS in October 2023 - offering 40 fully funded first-aid training spaces for parents/grandparents and carers to learn vital skills - which due to incredible feedback further sessions are in the pipeline. There really is something for everyone whether you are a child, parent, carer, workplace or employee, we really do offer the full package when it comes to first-aid training sessions in and around Colchester. We also recognise that sometimes your training needs aren’t standard - not a problem at all we have worked with a range of clients to create ‘bespoke’ training packages tailored to your individual requirements.

We pride ourselves on creating welcoming courses which are interactive to engage the learners to create confident and competent individuals who up-to-date knowledge and skills ready to respond if and when needed.

Who will delivery my training session?

Chloe Harvey is the face behind and the face behind the delivery of every first-aid training session. A Registered Nurse with current NMC registration, NHS Trainer, NCT Trainer and Mum of 3. You will struggle to find a more experienced and passionate First-Aid Trainer, Chloe has an impressive 16+ years Emergency Care Experience. Chloe is able to tailor first-aid training to meet individual requirements - so please get in touch to discuss your training requirements.

Equipment

First Start don’t rely on equipment that has fancy lights or makes noises - simply because we don’t need to…. We use the same equipment that the NHS use to train their staff in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). This gives the learner a realistic training experience because the learner experience is what’s important to us. Due to Chloe’s emergency care experience, having played an active role in countless cardiac arrest and emergency situations. This enables us to identify and guide learners when performing CPR and other first-aid interventions. All the equipment used during the sessions is subject to strict infection control and is thoroughly sanitised before/after each use to keep you safe, as well as the use of many single-use articles.

Accredited First-Aid Training

ProTrainings UK are the company we use for my accredited first-aid training courses - these are CPD recognised. Depending on the course you attend you can be assured they will meet the Health and Safety Executive requirements for workplace first-aid training (EFAW/FAW) and all Paediatric first-aid training meets the OFSTED and EYFS requirements. Depending on the course qualification will depend on the length of validity. We will be happy to discuss and advise on first aid training requirements.
